Refund & Cancellation Policy
Effective date: 1 April 2026
This Refund & Cancellation Policy applies to all services provided by Charlie Sabin (ABN 64 151 412 796), sole trader, Victoria, Australia. It should be read in conjunction with the Terms of Service.
1. Web Development Projects
1.1 Deposit
A deposit of 50% of the quoted project fee is required before any work commences. This deposit is non-refundable once work has commenced. The deposit secures your position in my project schedule and compensates for the time, effort, and opportunity cost of beginning your project.
1.2 Cancellation Before Work Commences
If you cancel your project before I have commenced any substantive work (i.e., before design, development, or content preparation has begun), I will refund your deposit in full, less any reasonable administrative costs incurred.
1.3 Cancellation After Work Commences
If you cancel your project after work has commenced:
- The 50% deposit is non-refundable.
- If additional work beyond the scope covered by the deposit has been completed, you will be invoiced for that work at a rate proportional to the original quote.
- Any completed deliverables will be provided to you upon receipt of full payment for all work performed.
1.4 Cancellation by Me
If I am unable to complete your project for any reason within my control, I will refund the deposit in full and provide you with all work completed to date at no charge.
2. Managed Care Plan (Monthly Subscription)
2.1 Subscription Terms
The Managed Care Plan is a month-to-month subscription that provides ongoing hosting, maintenance, and support for your website. There is no fixed-term contract; the subscription continues on a rolling monthly basis until cancelled by either party.
2.2 Cancellation by You
You may cancel your Managed Care Plan at any time by providing 30 days’ written notice (via email to charlie@charliesabin.com). Upon cancellation:
- Your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period following the 30-day notice period.
- No pro-rated refunds will be issued for any partial month remaining after cancellation takes effect. You will retain access to all services until the end of your final paid billing period.
- After your subscription ends, your website hosting will be discontinued. You are responsible for arranging alternative hosting prior to the cancellation taking effect. I will provide reasonable assistance in migrating your site upon request.
2.3 Cancellation by Me
I reserve the right to cancel your Managed Care Plan with 30 days’ written notice. In such cases, I will provide a pro-rated refund for any unused portion of the current billing period and reasonable assistance in migrating your website to an alternative host.
3. Tutoring Services
3.1 Cancellation of Individual Sessions
- Sessions cancelled with 24 hours’ notice or more will be rescheduled or refunded at your preference.
- Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged in full. This policy exists because last-minute cancellations represent a lost time slot that cannot be reallocated to another student.
- No-shows (failure to attend without notice) will be charged in full.
3.2 Prepaid Packages
If you have purchased a prepaid tutoring package, unused sessions may be refunded on a pro-rata basis at my discretion, less any discount applied to the package rate.
4. Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude, restrict, or modify your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)). If the services I provide suffer from a major failure or cannot be remedied, you may be entitled to a refund or compensation regardless of this policy.
Consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law include guarantees that services will be:
- Provided with due care and skill.
- Fit for the purpose specified or made known by you.
- Supplied within a reasonable time (when no time is specified).

6. Changes to This Policy
I may update this Refund & Cancellation Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Active clients will be notified of material changes via email.
